Transcending the human condition

Would it be fair to say that the better we can describe the human condition,
the better we can make others’ lives…
or at least bring light to what it is they cannot articulate,
thereby guiding them down the path of self-actualization?

When I think about the human condition, I can go down an endless spiral, considering every different potential complexity that shapes who we are and how we live our lives.

Each individual on this planet has a completely different life, born into different circumstances, ingrained with a personality like no other, and on their own unique journey to find themselves and their purpose on this planet.

Given these apparent differences between us, we could say that one mode of teaching would not resonate with everyone or one type of healing would not give the same results to all.

We can get lucky early on and stumble across a discipline or practice that resonates deeply or we can spend our entire lives searching for something that adds the so-called final piece to the puzzle of our existence.

This in itself can be a fallacy, thinking that we need to seek externally to fill the void within us.

However, we can integrate the learnings from the external world with the intricate construction of our internal world to find harmony between the two.

The weaving of our inner work with our external environment is no easy task though, however, with practice, we can get closer to a state of balance between the two.

It requires a range of tools to facilitate the union between what is inside our mind, and outside our mind; what we can control and what we cannot.

This toolkit we possess only grows with experience; it only grows from stepping outside our comfort zone.

The simple act of putting our toes in the water can spark the fire within us to seek what lies beneath the surface of our being.

We start to realize that the depths of our being are like an ocean that goes far beyond the surface of what we can see, and we will never get to the bottom until we dive right on in.

Yes, we have to surface for air, to recalibrate, to integrate what we have found, however each time we dive in our capacity to stay there increases, and in turn, we discover more and more about who we are and what we are really after in this life.

When we remove ourselves from the known and enter the unknown, we are opening up to our vulnerabilities, lifting away the weights of our conditioning, and becoming more defined in the process.

When we come from the angle that we can learn from every experience in life we expand our ability to tolerate more.

So, whatever it may be, it is a step forward in life.

It can be as simple as trying a new dish, to as extreme as an ayahuasca ceremony in the Peruvian jungle, both with the potential to completely shift our perspective and open our minds to what else exists.

We then start to take the reins, we realize that our individual human condition is only a representation of the toolkit we possess, guided by our internal navigation system based on the paths that we have already walked.

Keep exploring, keep expanding, because I can guarantee you there is a lot more outside the bubble than inside, and once you realize this you will set a new course for your life and not look back on what used to be.

The experience of the unknown is the ultimate teacher in understanding the human condition.

Dare to step into life and start experiencing more of what it has to offer.

I dare you.
